The Allium 'Drumsticks', 'Allium sphaerocephalon', a fall planted ornamental onion bulb, produces beautiful crimson-purple flowers. It has showy, deep purple - crimson florets form large oval flower clusters atop sturdy stems. It is striking in the mixed border or rock garden, especially with yellow daylilies.
